Blue Chip Championships 2020 are Cancelled
It is with the deepest sadness and regret that following the recent change in Government recommendations announced on 16 March for combatting Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the announcement today by British Showjumping, that the Blue Chip Winter Show Jumping Championships have now been cancelled.
It is the first time in three decades that the Championships have had to cancel but the decision is out of our control. At all times we need to consider the safety of both competitors and our large team of officials.
The past few days have been spent searching for solutions to enable the championship finals to continue, however, this is an unprecedented worldwide crisis which will impact everyone. The epidemic has developed at such a rapid rate that it is impossible to predict the conditions the country will be facing in a few weeks.
We will endeavour to find alternative dates, but with no end to the current situation predicted it is impossible to plan ahead and we are aware that there is already a full calendar of events planned for the summer should they be able to proceed. If a suitable date can be arranged, we will make an immediate announcement.
Full refunds will be provided for everyone who has entered. This will include the entry fees, medical fees, stable fees, hook-up fees and hospitality fees. Competitors will be contacted individually for their details to make the refunds. Your patience while this is done is very much appreciated. With the volume of work that will need to be undertaken, we expect all refunds to have been made by 21 April 2020.
We thank you for your understanding during this worldwide epidemic which is beyond the control of anyone at present.
